Pawtucket is a historic, diverse city in northern Rhode Island, home to a network of 15 public schools serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. CIVIC worked with the Pawtucket School District to lead the RIDE Necessity of School Construction Stage I. In collaboration with district leadership and school communities, CIVIC conducted comprehensive facility assessments, including walkthroughs and stakeholder interviews, to identify current conditions and prioritize future improvements. Building on the district’s recent investments in elementary school renovations and the development of a unified high school, the process established a clear foundation for the next phase of capital planning. A thorough evaluation of existing facilities and a district-wide needs assessment informed the development of a long-term strategy for investment. The resulting plan supports continued delivery of high-quality learning environments that foster both academic achievement and social-emotional growth for all students.
