In a fast changing world, there is a tremendous need - and opportunity - to help dramatically change how we educate and care for youth. CIVIC works with teachers, students, and educational stakeholders to rethink educational spaces to align to new and emerging educational practices.
We provide a variety of design consulting services, including design reviews, masterplanning, and pragmatic design solutions. From concept validation to technical review, CIVIC can ensure projects meet functional, aesthetic, and budgetary goals by helping clients make informed decisions.
The decisions we make about what and how we build our public spaces and places create the framework for everyday living in our cities. And yet our citizens, our youth, and our underserved communities must frequently operate within a restrictive framework that minimizes their expertise. At CIVIC, we work to design engagement processes and activities that meaningfully engage and honor the expertise and experiences of those that are most impacted by the work.
CIVIC provides guidance and oversight in the development and execution of capital projects, with a focus on public and educational facilities. In particular, we assist Local Education Agencies in Rhode Island with understanding and meeting RIDE regulations, design review standards, and Housing Aid submissions.
We work closely with you to translate organizational objectives into detailed spatial requirements that guide effective design solutions. Our programming process analyzes spatial needs, operations, growth projections, and user needs to establish clear, measurable criteria for project success.
As designers, we are keenly aware that every project can have simultaneous successes and failures - but only by evaluating completed facilities against intended goals can we improve. CIVIC has developed systems to gather user feedback and operational data that can inform future decisions, improve design outcomes, and identify opportunities for optimization.
