In 2023, CIVIC collaborated with Utile to facilitate a stakeholder engagement process informing an update to Rhode Island Housing’s Design Guidelines for development. Through individual interviews, focus group discussions, and a survey, CIVIC gathered input from key stakeholders in Rhode Island’s affordable housing ecosystem to inform the drafting of efficient and impactful design guidelines. The process assessed best practices from peer housing finance agencies with a focus on improving design quality while streamlining guidelines and ensuring administrative ease.
